Have you always wanted to be an author?

Yes! It has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid!

I am so excited to read the book, how did you come up with the plot of Girl on Trial?

I’ve had the premise of this novel in my head for the past fifteen years or so. I started to experiment with alcohol at an early age and so understand firsthand the effects that peer pressure can have on a teenage girl. When I think back to those years, I sometimes wonder: what if? What if I had made this choice or that decision? There were so many terrible outcomes that could have occurred in my life. I wanted to write this novel to show my readers a “what if.”

Glennon Doyle—love her!

If you could give someone one piece of advice to getting a book published, what would that be?

Don’t give up and be persistent! It takes a long, long time to get an agent/publisher. Do not be discouraged with rejections. Use rejections/feedback to improve your work and keep going!

As a mom of 3, author and real estate agent, you have a lot on your plate. What are your favorite hacks to keep everyone organized and on schedule?

  1. Keep a family calendar in the kitchen where everyone can see it and/or digital
